Over 100 faith leaders have issued a joint statement calling for a binding UN treaty on business and human rights, urging governments to prioritise people and planet over profit.

Faith leaders and organisations have joined voices in a global call for a binding international treaty on business and human rights. More than 100 institutions and individuals endorsed the statement, which underlines the need for stronger international regulation to prevent irresponsible business practices and ensure accountability.

Church leaders and Christian organisations including Christian Aid, CAFOD, Trocaire, CIDSE, Franciscans International, World Young Women’s Christian Association and the ACT Alliance have come together to urge governments negotiating at the UN to commit to a treaty that protects people and communities affected by harmful business practices and environmental degradation.
